Project Overview – Superdeck

Superdeck is a Melbourne based composite decking company that offers a wide range of composite decking products for trades and general public. 

They wanted to have an attractive website three years ago so that customers could easily view their decking products. In addition to this, they wanted to be on the first page of Google search results when consumers search “composite decking” products in Melbourne.

Project Strategy

The team at Digital Channel started building the website from scratch about 3 years ago, and now the website listed all types of composite decking products.

There are a large number of case studies on the website showcasing Superdeck’s composite decking projects. Aside from web design, Digital Channel’s SEO team also helped  to raise their keyword rankings on Google search.

We started the SEO project after the website was built. We helped the website rank on Google first page for more than 89 keywords, doubling website traffic and phone inquiries YOY via product SEO, local SEO and content marketing strategies.

Insights From the Digital Campaign

SEO being the core of digital marketing strategy for the decking company, we have learnt over the last 3 years:

  • SEO is about constantly auditing our own performance and watching what the competitors are doing for their SEO game.
  • Ranking on Google’s top 3 spots is increasingly important than ranking on top 10 positions, as click through rate on position 5-10 gets much lower YoY
  • Mobile users account for 50% of the traffic, increasing mobile rankings in the Google search results is crucial. At the same time, mobile experience cannot be put as a secondary priority anymore.
