Project Overview – Silvertrading

Since 2009, Sydney-based Silvertrading Timber Flooring has been offering high-quality carpet and flooring products for homes and businesses. They wanted to showcase their flooring products and a variety of case studies on their website. Moreover, they wanted to dominate Google search results when people certain hard floor and carpet products online.

Project Strategy

When we started the SEO campaign a year ago, Silvertrading wanted to show on Google’s first page for one product type only, which is the Godfrey Hirst Eco+ carpet. 

Took us 4-5 months to get onto the first page, and till now they are still on Google’s first page. Search “godfrey hirst eco plus carpet”.

After we saw success from the first keyword group, Silvertrading management wanted to try another group of keywords which is around “hybrid flooring sydney ” as this flooring product gained massive popularity in the last 24 months. Again we got to the first page on Google and brought in traffic and inquiries.

Insights From the Digital Campaign

During our project, we’ve learned that the foundation of the slivertrading company’s digital marketing approach is SEO, and there are other findings:

  • Since the click through rate from positions 5 to 10 is so much lower, being in the top 3 positions on Google is crucial.

  • Increasing mobile rankings in Google search results is imperative because mobile traffic now accounts for 50% of all traffic.

  • Long-tail keywords emphasised on products and locations are much easier to target for local businesses than targeting wide big keywords such as “flooring shop sydney”. The customer conversion rate on the long-tail keywords is also much higher.
